Freida doesn’t have a home

Freida Pinto says she doesn't have a permanent address and has been living out of three suitcases for the past two years.

"I'd like to say I live somewhere, but right now I'm all over the world with my three suitcases that I've been carrying with me for two years. I just keep changing the clothes in the bags," femalefirst.co.uk quoted her as saying.

"Literally, I have no fixed address. I call Bombay my home, but I moved to London last year when I was doing the Woody Allen film and I loved that as my second home. I love New York as well."

Despite her lack of a permanent home, the 26-year-old would hate to return to her life as a struggling actress and admits she was close to quitting the profession before she got her big break.

"You always dream of something magical happening, and when it happens to you, it's almost difficult to accept that it actually happened.

"Even though I was lucky, I had a lot of struggles before that. I said I was going to give up everything at age 25 and get into event management because nothing was going for me. I used to have a lot of nervous breakdowns."

She is dating her Slumdog Millionaire co-star Dev Patel.

Kareena Kapoor ready to tie a Knot !

Kareena Kapoor says that the massive rock that she sports on her ring finger is something that she had gifted herself, ending much speculation.

“I know, everybody loves it (the huge diamond) but it’s mine. Saif has not gifted it to me,” she says.

The obvious question that comes up next is that of marriage and Kareena says that it is an eventuality for sure. “I believe in the institution of marriage and I will eventually settle down. But at this point of time, it is work which is on top of my priority list,” says Kareena.

Ask Kareena if marriage is no longer considered a taboo for heroines and she blatantly denies this. The actor feels that Bollywood still has a reservation against married heroines.

“Who are we kidding? I think that we have not reached a stage where Bollywood accepts a married heroine. Of course, there are exceptions like Aishwarya Rai and Kajol but it is the exceptions that prove the rule,” she says.

Talking about actor beau Saif Ali Khan’s kids, Sara and Ibrahim, Kareena admits that she has developed a certain bond with them which is more of friendship and easy camaraderie.

“Sara is very good at her studies and so is Ibrahim. I really admire the way they have grown up. Of course, I also admire the way they have been brought up so beautifully by their mother (referring to Saif’s ex-wife and actor Amrita Singh). The kids and I are more like friends and I am really fond of them,” adds Kareena.

The actor also fondly refers to Saif’s mother, Sharmila Tagore and says that she has learnt a lot from her. “She was a style icon in her days and we must also remember that the best of her performances also came after she was married. I admire the way she dresses and carries herself. She was also the numero uno heroine of her times. We have a lot of similarities,” says Kareena.

The one thing that Kareena recently missed out on was meeting the late Maharani Gayatri Devi, whom she adores. “I heard so much about her from Saif but I was fortunate enough to meet her like him. She was one of the most beautiful women in the world,” she ends dreamily.

Sushmita gets a Salman painting

Sushmita Sen is now the proud owner of a Salman Khan painting. But the actor didn't gift her his work, she took it off his wall and carried it home with her.

An art connoisseur, Sush has been in awe of Sallu's paintings for a while. And she has pleaded with him to part with this one painting for over two years now.

The actor kept putting it off until the evening of his Being Human show this year. This time around, when Sen came over to Khan's home, she simply walked home with it when she left.

This particular work of art shows a close-up of a praying man's face with his eyes closed. He is holding prayer beads in his hands.

Also, the artist has not given his subject a forehead, leaving in doubt his religion. Hindus, Muslims, as well as Christians all use prayer beads while praying.

But while Hindus cover their head with a cloth while praying. Muslims wear a cap. But with the forehead missing from the painting it is a picture of a man praying to a God.

It was the deep meaning behind the painting that made a connection with Sush.

The source adds, "Sush got the point that the missing forehead was to imply the man could be of any religion - Hindu, Muslim, Christian (see box). The sentiment was to depict the idea that God is one irrespective of what religion you follow."

When contacted Sushmita says, "I am a huge fan of Salman "The Artist". I love the freedom he enjoys in his creative expression.

The first time I saw one of his paintings I didn't notice the colours, the strokes or the brilliance of form what won me over instantly was "The Reverence" "The Celebration of Faith" his paintings depict.

Work like that can only stem from the inside from the spirit!! which is why I think it's so powerful that the proceeds from the sale of Salman's paintings are directed to charity.

I am thrilled to have one of the finest paintings Salman has ever painted "Jesus with his beads" in prayer!! Salman was forced to gift it to me :) and I will cherish it for my whole life!!More power to you, Salman."

The use of beads while praying is prevalent in most of the world's major religions along with a few others. While Christians use the rosary, Muslims use the tasbeh, while Hindus use the rudraksh to help them pray.

Also the custom of covering one's head is prevalent in Hinduism
and Islam. Muslims wear a skull cap while Hindus use a cloth (like one would use a bandana) to cover their heads

Ranbir-Imran's lip-lock

Ranbir Kapoor and Imran Khan found a unique way of putting an end to the speculation around their cold war by cheating a liplock on Koffee with Karan.

They also used the kiss to encourage KJo to cast them in his Dostana sequel.

They demanded that KJo live up to a promise he made to them during an awards show (of casting them in his film). They reminded him that they got an underwear each as a signing token from Karan.

A source who was present during filming says, "They were a riot on the show.

They were all over each other and if they have a problem, it didn't show. To convince Johar that they would be just as compatible on screen, they ended up kissing twice!

Karan was totally taken aback by their madness. After they kissed the first time, the host asked them to do it again as they returned from a commercial break.

Without hesitation, they embraced each other and broke into another kiss!"

Before the shoot, Ranbir had matched dates according to Imran since the latter was in the middle of a shoot.

"It didn't seem like there was any rivalry between the two. Ranbir graciously adjusted his dates for Imran. They were seen joking and having a long conversation before the shoot."

Good actors or good friends? We'll never know.

Aamir, Imran to act together?

Finally, the extremely finicky Aamir Khan may have agreed to act in Reema Kagti’s next, film, but a little birdie tells us that Aamir is very keen to remake a hit — Yaadon Ki Baarat —that was made by his dad, the late Tahir Hussain. The film is considered to be cult classic and a big hit of its times.

Our source said, “Yaadon Ki Baarat holds a special place in Aamir’s heart. He made a brief appearance in this film as a child artiste.” Apparently, Aamir wants to play Dharmendra’s role. “He wants to rope in nephew Imran Khan to play the role of the younger brother.”

This will be a casting coup of sorts as maama-bhanja have yet to do a movie together. And one with hit songs like Chura Liya starring these two is bound to find a huge audience.

Sanjay Dutt says no to Mallika

Ever since Manyata has come into his life, Sanjay Dutt we hear, has been particular about his roles and the actors and directors he works with. The latest is that Sanjay Dutt has drawn the line when it comes to working with some actresses and one of them is Mallika Sherawat.

Sources inform that when director Anil Garg who has worked as an assistant for movies like Pyar Tune Kya Kiya and Road wanted to make his debut as a director, he approached Dutt with the script of the remake of Amrapali, a hit from the 60s. Sanjay wanted to know who the leading lady would be. Garg said it was likely to be Mallika Sherawat. But Sanjay told him to talk to another heroine. Strangely, Sanjay is working with Mallika in Indra Kumar’s sequel to Dhamaal, but there are hardly any scenes with the two of them together it is heard.

Veena drops towel on camera

Salman Khan show Bigg Boss 4 is courting a huge chunk of headlines these days for the amount of eyebrows it is managing to raise. While we saw some uninhibited love stories culminating between Ashmit Patel and Sara Khan/ Veena Malik and between Veena and Hrishant, the buzz is that Veena has now suffered a wardrobe malfunction.

If Futuristic Media network is to be believed then it would appear that the Pakistani contestant Veena Malik dropped her towel and even her top slipped off leaving her stark naked for close to 10 seconds before she managed to pull her garments back.

Veena is known for her affinity towards glamour, make up and costumes and it was during one costume-changing session that her towel and her top slipped off leaving her garment-free right before the preying eyes of the camera. However, the male voyeurs won’t be able to relish on those images since such clips are censored by the bosses before being shown on national television.

Deepika blasts Ranbir and Katrina!

Deepika is fuming with anger at Ranbir Kapoor: The latest buzz in tinsel ville is that Deepika Padukone is very angry with her ex Ranbir Kapoor.

Although she may look calm, composed and cheerful externally, on a recent episode of a talk show with Karan Johar, when asked what would she gift Ranbir, she apparently replied “a packet of condoms”.

The next question was about Ranbir’s newly found close friend Katrina. Karan asked him what does she feel about Katrina and Deepika reportedly stated “I would like to see her passport.”

God knows what was she actually hinting at.

Shilpa's take on inviting Akshay

 Asks a defiant Shilpa Shetty Kundra when asked why neighbour and ex Akshay Kumar and his wife Twinkle weren't invited to their bash

Shilpa Shetty Kundra is irritated with queries of why ex Akshay Kumar and his wife Twinkle were not invited to her house warming party on November 5.

The actress invited the who's who of the film industry to her Juhu bungalow for a casino-style party on Diwali.

he Kumars, who live a 100 yards away from her house, had their own party a day before her party, and the Kundras were not invited to that.

The actress asks, "People keep asking me why I don't invite Akshay and Twinkle to my parties, but I would like to ask why they don't invite Raj and me to theirs?

They had a Diwali party a day ahead of me but no one asked them why they didn't invite Raj and me. Why should I invite them to our home, then? It's not as if I want them to invite us.

Akshay and I have moved on with our respective partners and there's nothing in common between us anymore."  To be fair, unlike Shilpa's bash, AK's bash was a private party with select guests.

Not in close circle

Shilpa says, "I invite people who are close to me and he doesn't feature in my circle of close friends anymore. Why is my guest list always paid so much attention to?

Friends are people we have a relationship with even if it means socially and Akshay and I have none whatsoever. They are nice people and I wish them well."

She makes it clear that they are not friends anymore but wishes him well, "He's a wonderful man and I can say for sure that he is very happy for me as I am for him with our respective partners.
 
We have our respective lives, so I request people to stop thinking so much about this, because I am too busy immersed in my life to think of such inconsequential things.

I recently inaugurated another spa,and I am busy with that and my other work."

Friends with the sis

Interestingly, even after her break up with the Khiladi, Shilpa has remained close to his sister Alka.

The star's sister was invited to Kundra's bash, and she partied there till the wee hours. Says Shilpa, "I did invite Akshay's sister whom I am very close to and she came to the party.

Alka and I have always remained close and stayed in touch. Our friendship has remained unchanged over the years."

According to the buzz, Raj doesn't want his biwi to be associated with her past and apparently during his baraat last year, he'd given strict instructions to the bandwallas not to play any songs from the actor's films.
 
Shilpa laughs, "Raj is much too classy to ever do something like that! Why should he mind? He isn't the sort to behave in a crass or weird way. He's too secure and confident as a person."

Breaking the Ice
Says a source, "Until recently Twinkle and Shilpa wouldn't talk to each other at social events - not even greet each other.

But now after her wedding, when they met each other at Maheep Kapoor's jewellery launch, the star wife broke the ice by congratulating the actress on her wedding.

Thereafter Akki's past and present came face-to-face at designer Shabina Khan's birthday a month ago and they exchanged hellos." 

Obama unites SRK, Salman

Salman, still riding high on the success of Dabangg, could not resist a wisecrack that would have done Chulbul Pandey proud. "U think Mr. Rajnikanth will give Obama his darshan???" he asked his fans on the micro blogging site. In his tweet, Shah Rukh made a reference to his character Rizwan in the film My Name is Khan who is determined to meet the American President, even if it means undertaking an epic journey to do so. "American president is in India. If I had known wouldn't have gone looking for him all over America instead met him in Andheri or Ghatkopar," he tweeted.

Besides the Khans, other Bollywood stars also took note of Obama's visit to the country. "Mr. Obama come at least once a year. Roads were less bumpy. So things can happen if Government wishes," Anupam Kher, wrote on his Twitter account.

Preity Zinta also seems to be following the President's Asia tour closely. This is what she had to say about Obama's visit to Indonesia, "Good Morning! Just heard Obamas speech in Jakarta. Wow ! He really is inspiring ! An amazing effort to bridge issues with the muslim world !". Earlier the actress had tweeted, "Airport today had too much security & few passengers. I hear President Obama arrives today. I'm sure he will fall in love with India :-)."

On a more serious note, actor Rahul Bose asked his followers on Twitter, "Vintage obama in parliament. Warm, scholarly, empathetic. The burma reprimand to india was deserved, but from america? Hmm. Any thoughts?"
