Hrithik paid 2 crs per episode on Just Dance

Till now hopefully all of are aware that now hunk Hrithik Roshan will be available on the small screen as the judge of the new dance reality show Just Dance, being launched by Star Plus. However, the recent news is that to be easily accessible to his fans Hrithik is reportedly being paid Rs 2 crores per episode.

With this amount Hrithik becomes the highest paid celebrity on the small screen. Hrithik's films for sometime now have not proved so fruitful for him, however it doesn't affect the stardom and the brand value that he carries.

There is no doubt that this dance reality show Just Dance will garner a lot of TRP's for the channel and Hrithik being a part of the show, adds up to the credit. People from across the globe will be participating on the show. The promos of the show will be aired in a few weeks from now.

Hrithik however, has over taken the highest paid celebrities, Akshay Kumar (1.75 crores) and Amitabh Bachchan (1.5 crores) when it comes to brand value and public demand. Whatever it takes Hrithik's debut will be an awesome eye treat for the contestants as well as the viewers of the show.

Katrina spends night at Ranbir's house!

Yes, you read it right! Katrina Kaif and Ranbir Kapoor's secret affair is finally out in the open, thereby establishing the lady's fall out with Salman Khan.

Katrina and Ranbir were amongst the guests who attended Karan Johar's party at Hotel Four Season's in Mumbai on Tuesday night. The party got over late but for Ranbir and Kat it continued till the wee hours of morning.

The two stars left from the venue in their respective cars but reached the same destination - Ranbir's Bandra residence. Our photographer, who was following both the cars, saw Kat's car parked in Ranbir's garage. We also hear that Kat didn't leave till as late at 7am in the morning.

Just a few days back, there were reports floating about Ranbir spending the night at Katrina's residence very often. It was also reported that Ranbir was at Kat's house the night before the IT raid took place. Unlike Shahid, who was present at Priyanka's house the same day during the raids, Ranbir was just lucky enough to leave Kat's house before officials knocked on the door.

However, now that everybody knows of their clandestine affair, we just hope that Ranbir and Katrina don't hide their relationship behind the 'just good friends' cover up anymore. Ab bacha kya?

Vidya wants Silk Smitha's thunder thighs!

Vidya Balan told Mumbai Mirror a few months ago, "I hope that I that I don't have to put on weight for Dirty Picture (biopic on late Silk Smitha)." Unfortunately for Vidya, that is precisely what is happening.

The lady who has been winning several awards for her stellar performance in Ishqiya has been asked to put on about 5 kilos. Says a source, "The bone of contention is that Silk Smitha had heavy thighs. It will not be wrong to say that she had thunder thighs.

Vidya will have to put on some flab on her thighs and some other parts of her body as well." Since the past few days, Ekta Kapoor (producer) and Milan Luthria (director) were sourcing many pictures of Silk Smitha from the internet. "Every picture has her donning either shorts or small petticoats.

The look needs the character to have weight. Vidya is still not up there." So from this week it's more carbohydrates for Vidya. A friend of Vidya told Mumbai Mirror, "Vidya loves to get into the skin of diverse characters.

She will be leaving no stone unturned for Dirty Picture." Despite a text message, Vidya did not revert.

Sallu's too big a boss for Dus Ka Dum

The channel has shelved the next season of the show, because neither Sallu nor Sanju Baba were inclined

Plans for another season of the game show Dus Ka Dum have been shelved.

According to channel sources Dus Ka Dum has fallen prey to Bigg Boss. Says a channel source, “After talks with Salman fell through, the channel had zeroed in on Sanjay Dutt as Salman's replacement.

But it was later decided that Salman would be more appropriate. In the meanwhile Salman committed himself to the next season of Bigg Boss.

They've now decided to shelve plans for the next season of Dus Ka Dum and focus instead on The X Factor, which will have Rishi Kapoor as one of the anchors.”

Ajit Thakur, business head and executive VP of the channel involved, confirms that Dus Ka Dum has been put on the back burner in favour of The X Factor. Says Thakur, “This year we're focusing entirely on the next season of Kaun Banega Crorepati and X Factor, which we're very excited about.

Yes we're in advanced talks with Rishi Kapoor to serve as one of the judges. Both Rishi and the channel are very excited about the association.”

Aamir will be the villain in Dhoom 3

All speculation that Aamir Khan will be playing the villain in YRF's Dhoom 3 can be put to rest; the superstar signed on the dotted line last night.

Aamir will play a full-on baddie in the third installment of the Dhoom franchise, which was essayed by John Abraham and Hrithik Roshan in the first and the second part respectively. The film will also star Dhoom regulars, Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra.

Aamir took the decision after a long meeting on Monday night with Yash Chopra and Aditya Chopra at his Bandra residence.

Says a source, “Last year in June, Aamir had met YRF scion Aditya Chopra, who had given Aamir an idea of how he envisaged him in Dhoom 3. Aamir had liked what he heard.

A detailed script narration took place thereafter on August 13 last year. After that, Aamir mulled if he should do the role or not. But then, Aamir always takes time to commit. And once he does, you know that he lives up to the expectations.”

Adds the source, “Aamir will have a very stylized look in the film. Aditya and Aamir have started working on the look.”

When contacted, Aamir however said that he knew from the word 'go' that he knew that he was doing Dhoom 3. “The Dhoom franchise is a super entertainer. But you know what? I could never imagine myself in it.

But it all changed when I heard the script. It's a fabulous script and when I heard it, I was blown away,” said Aamir.

Added the superstar, “Soon, I start shooting for Reema Kagti's film. Earlier, I worked with YRF in Fanaa. Dhoom 3 will be my second assignment with them. And the pleasure is all mine.” Dhoom 3 is slated to release around X'Mas 2012. Victor Acharya, who wrote Dhoom and Dhoom 2 and also directed Tashan, will direct the film.

Abhishek reveals his first meeting with Ash

Always wondered when exactly Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan first met? And what did they feel about each other in that 'pehli mulaqat'? Well, Jr B is dishing on the special moment.

Abhishek reveals in the latest issue of Vogue magazine, "The first time I met Aishwarya was in August 1997. I was on a recce for my father's film 'Mrityudata' in Switzerland and she was shooting her first film 'Aur Pyar Ho Gaya' with my dear friend Bobby Deol. I remember one evening Bobby invited me over to his hotel for dinner and Aishwarya and the rest of the unit were there. That was the first time I actually met her."

"If you ask her, she will tell you the same thing - that the minute we came together, we both knew that this was something for keeps. So, there wasn't just this 'one' defining moment, it always felt perfect," he added.

Ranbir at Kat's house before IT raid!

Ranbir escaped being caught at Katrina's house; as he left just before the IT officials came knocking.

While Shahid Kapoor was found in Priyanka Chopra's flat the morning of the IT raids (January 24), Ranbir Kapoor escaped being caught at girlfriend Katrina Kaif's flat, as he left a couple of hours before the IT officials arrived.

Roz ki baat hai

Says a source in Bandra, "Apparently, Ranbir and Katrina have been meeting almost every night at her place after he finishes his workouts at a gym nearby.

 That night too (the night before the raids on January 23), RK came over a little after 10 pm and spent some time with her."

According to the Bandra source, the Kapoor lad was with Kat till 4 am in the morning. "He has been out of town for almost two months so the couple caught up on lost time. 

They were together till the wee hours of the morning when finally Ranbir left, as he wanted to go home and freshen up. The IT officials came to Kat's home at around 6 am."

Lucky escape

The source feels that Ranbir is lucky to have left earlier or he too would have been caught with Katrina like Shaks was with PC when the IT officials arrived.

"He escaped by the skin of his teeth and it's what RK has been telling close friends and family."

However, the source adds that in the last couple of few weeks, Kapoor and Kaif have become more open in their feelings towards each other.

"They were spotted at a suburban restaurant today and appeared quite comfortable to be seen in each other's company. They feel it's time to come clean about their relationship and don't mind being spotted together."

Ranbir and Katrina remained unavailable for comment.

According to Economic Times, Sun TV Network ended the last quarter (December 2010 ) with an impressive 50% growth by profiting 225.5 crore for the period. The movie produced by Sun TV's Kalanidhi Maran was made with the budget of 120 crores and it has grossed 375 crores till date

Rajinikanth and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan starrer film was released on October 01,2010 in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi. The movie went on to break 3 Idiots record at the box-office by collecting Rs. 117 crore in first week.

Raveena, Sohail in a comedy show

An upcoming comedy reality show on a leading TV channel is said to have roped in some big Bollywood faces as participants.

Kirron Kher, Sohail Khan and Raveena Tandon Thadani have been signed on as the team leaders and the fourth team leader could just be Arshad Warsi or Boman Irani. Anil Kapoor and Karisma Kapoor have both been approached to don the grandmaster's hat. There will be TV actors too on the show including Pooja Gor, Shweta Tiwari, Rashmi Desai along with stand-up comedians.

This is your first public concert in Hyderabad. How come you haven't performed here before?

I have performed in Hyderabad many a time, but all of them have been for private shows. I've done stage shows all over the world and have always been looking for a chance to do a public concert here. Hyderabad is close to my heart because the language and nazaakat is very similar to my hometown Lucknow. I'm really looking forward to perform at the Times Hyderabad Festival and entertaining my people.

What do you enjoy more — playback or live performances?

Definitely live performances. My shows are family oriented and there is something for every age group. So it's a lot more fun doing stage shows. Even the kids connect with me thanks to my stint as a reality show judge in a children's singing competition.

Talking about reality shows, why don't you judge a show for adult singers?

I'm not comfortable doing that at all. With children I know that I can contribute a lot. I can groom them, guide them and most importantly, become a child once again. With adults it's a different ball game. Most of the shows already have four to five judges who are composers. All they do is show-off and make tall promises to the singers which most of the time they don't fulfill. I don't make promises to anyone because I know I can't fulfill them. Most composers go on reality shows only to promote themselves and their projects.

But most of their songs are hits today.

That's because they promote it so much that it sticks in your head like a washing powder jingle. The quality of these songs is as good as washing powder. Plus, most musicians these days are clones of AR Rahman. But I have news for you — winning an Oscar does not make you a good musician, you just become the 'news'. So if they want to be in news, then what they do is fine. They have gone so much into using technology that they don't have knowledge of music. Using 'autotune' they have made singers out of besura people. I'm glad to be have worked with people like Nadeem-Shravan, Jatin-Lalit and Annu Malek. None of the composers today have made an 'everlasting' song. Not even Rahman. Apart from " Roja", " Bombay" and " Guru" can people remember songs from his other films? Except for RD Burman no other composer has recall value to his music.

Aren't you courting trouble by making such statements?

That's how I have always been. The truth is today, in every film most good songs are sung by the composers themselves. They don't give the good songs to singers. And honestly most music directors are horrible singers. I have never been diplomatic or cunning. Earlier I used to sing for every film, today I hardly do playback. In spite of that my status as a good singer has not changed.

Don't you feel upset about not getting enough songs to sing?

Not at all. There are 5,000 singers today who don't have any distinct identity. They are merely used as an add-on. Why should I be part of 5,000 mediocre singers? Today any bhikari singing a Sufi song will get a chance to sing for an SRK or Aamir, but nobody can match the magic of my voice. No radio station can run without playing my songs. The last of the known singers today are Shreya Ghoshal and Shaan. My distinct identity as a singer has helped me amass a lot of wealth to be comfortable. Monetary issues are not a problem at all. When I read that Priyanka Chopra has 9 flats I was shocked, because I have 11! Plus, I have other commercial properties and investments as well. I have most of the comforts than a star like SRK has. So I don't have to worry.
