Salman, SRK on Madhuri's wish list

We have seen the reach and impact of a Rajinikant film. Inspite of it all, Bollywood's dhak dhak girl Madhuri Dixit gave an opportunity of working with the South legend a pass! Reason. She didn't want to play his sister's role.

However, our diva is game for working with her Bollywood co-stars like Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan.

Infact Mads has become a huge fan of Sallu especially after his recent movies like `Wanted' and `Dabangg'.

She even has a special request for filmmakers. "It'll be wonderful to work with Salman and Shah Rukh again...three of us together in one film. I hope some good script comes our way. It'll be so much fun", says Madhuri recalling the chemistry she created with the duo in `Hum Tumhare Hain Sanam'.

Madhuri starred opposite SRK and Sallu in the romantic drama `Hum Tumhare Hain Sanam' in the late nineties. She's also individually worked with SRK in Anjaam, `Dil toh Pagal Hai', Koyla, Gaja Gamini and Devdas while she epitomized romance in `Sajaan', Hum Aapke Hain Kaun, opposite Salman.

"I am aware of the growing popularity of Salman these days. I have seen his recent films. My kids just love it. Salman deserves every bit of his super success today. I really want to work with him if there's a script" she admits candidly.

The actress shares a lovely friendship with both these actors. Marvelling at how well the actors have maintained themselves and are matching steps with younger girls she says. "It's awesome to see all my heroes' getting younger by day and romancing the young girls. It's incredible", signs off Madhuri with a smile.

Sonakshi to romance Dawood

The actress joins the race to play Mandakini in Ekta Kapoor’s Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai 2

First, it was Akshay Kumar who took over Emraan Hashmi’s character of Dawood in the sequel to Ekta Kapoor’s 2010 hit Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai. And now, Dabanng girl Sonakshi Sinha has joined the race to play Mandakini, Dawood’s love interest in the film.

While media reports suggested that it would be Katrina Kaif, Kareena Kapoor or Deepika Padukone to pair up with Akki in this Milan Luthria directed film, looks like after the success of her debut, Shatrughan’s little daughter might be the one to romance the actor on screen.

A source told Mumbai Mirror, “Ekta Kapoor and Milan Luthria are taking their time to choose the leading lady for Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai 2. They want the girl to be perfect. Initially, they wanted a leading lady to essay the role of Mandakini. But now, they are considering Sonakshi Sinha.”

The fact that Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi are already working for two films together seems to be working in favour of the young actress. “Akshay and Sonakshi are already doing Shirish Kunder’s Joker and Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Rowdy Rathod to be directed by Prabhudeva together. Ekta and Milan will obviously keep that in mind while making their choice,” added the source.

The casting apart from Akshay, however is not final yet. “They are still looking for the parallel hero in the film. Once the second actor is finalised, Ekta and Milan will take a call on who will play the leading lady,” confirmed the source.

Now we have to wait and watch to find out if Sonakshi turns into Dawood’s love for Ekta.

Sanjay Dutt's driver plays Mallika's dad

Sanjay Dutt makes his chauffeur enact a scene in 'Double Dhamaal' for fun sake

Like Sanjay Dutt, his chauffeur Prasad also loves to act.

Having been part of the Dutt household for ages (he has been driver to Sanjay's mother Nargis as well as to his sister Priya during her student days), he feels some of the acting skills of his boss have rubbed on to him.

Sanjay Dutt with his driver Prasad

To fulfill his wish, the star made him act out one scene in Double Dhamaal with full costume and make-up. His co-star was Mallika Sherawat and though he had to play her father, he was absolutely thrilled!

Says a unit source, "They told him to act like a typical Hindi film dad. It was an emotional scene with MS pleading with him, but he remaining adamant.

And then suddenly, he is overcome with pain and suffers a heart attack."

Dialogue time
Adds the source, "It was Sanjay who requested director Indra Kumar to take Prasad for the scene.

He even helped him to memorise his lines. Even though it was not in the script given to Mallika, the actress agreed to do the scene as Indra told her that some extra emotional naatak was needed."

Explains Indra, "As our film is a comedy, Sanju approached me to let Prasad do a prank act with Mallika.

So I narrated the scene and she got ready to enact it. But while doing the scene, Prasad said something really funny to her and she was taken aback.

Sanjay burst out laughing. The film is full of pranks played on each other, off-screen as well as on-screen!"

Prasad's scene might not remain in the final edit of Double Dhamaal but if it does Dutt will be laughing the loudest!

Ranveer Singh: No sex please!

Ranveer Singh fought shy of doing a sexually explicit scene in Bijoy Nambiar's 'Shaitan'

Guess who was going to play the wild and extreme KC is Bijoy Nambiar's Shaitan? Ranveer Singh!

However, the Band Baaja Baraat actor opted out due to the boldness of the character and only then did Gulshan Devaiah stepped in.

A well-placed source in the film crew reveals, "Ranveer was like any other struggling actor at that time. He hadn't signed BBB then.

He was one of the first guys auditioned and selected for the role. Bejoy immediately decided to cast him. He loved the energy and spontaneity RS brought in front of the camera."

Can't do it

However, a sexually explicit scene made him change his mind. "Ranveer loved the part and agreed to do it.

However, he chickened out later on as his character was supposed to be introduced in the movie in a sexually explicit scene. The actor told Nambiar he wouldn't be comfortable debuting with such a bold scene.

His family also had their reservations against the role," the source adds. The scene was later changed and the film's salaciousness was toned down a bit.

The source further adds, "Though it was a risky call but I am glad that Ranveer took it because it worked in his favour.

Everyone has his or her own dos and don'ts. Ranveer comes from a conservative family. Moreover, he wanted to do a solo hero film. He then waited for the right film to come his way and made a great start with BBB."

Ranveer Singh and Bijoy remained unavailable for comment.

Is Asin avoiding Neil Nitin Mukesh?

Basking in the glory of her latest film, the actress shuns her once ‘close’ friend Neil Nitin Mukesh

Asin Thottumkal basking in the glory of her latest success Ready, seems to have forgotten a few old friends. Neil Nitin Mukesh happens to be one of them. Their ‘friendship’ seems to have fallen by the wayside.

Not so long ago, the two of them were thick friends. Asin, in fact, took a few career calls for Neil in the past. When he was asked to star in Hriday Shetty’s film, the actress came forward and told the director that the script wasn’t good enough for Neil. Buzz is, Asin has gone into a different space after Ready hit the jackpot. A friend of Neil confirmed, “Yes. This is true. She has been avoiding him. Perhaps she got carried away by the success of Ready.”

Added the source, “But it’s okay.  We all tend to go on some trip when we are on a high. Asin seems to be on a high horse right now. Neil and Asin’s common friends also feel the same.”

But like every dark cloud, this one too has a silver lining. Filmmakers like Hriday Shetty, who were finding it difficult to cast Asin and Neil together can now, heave a sigh of relief.

Asin and Neil however, remained unavailable for comments.

Zoa Morani can't thank SRK enough

When Zoa Morani thought that she was ready to play a leading lady in films, it wasn’t just Shahrukh Khan that she was thinking of, either in the capacity of a co-star or a producer. She was open to any film or actor, as long as the set up was prestigious and she could be assured of a good presentation and platform. With a stroke of luck she did eventually step into Shahrukh’s production ‘Always Kabhi Kabhi’ and now she can’t thank her luck enough.

“What else can a debutant look forward to when you have none other than Shahrukh himself backing you up,” says Zoa who is making her debut with this Roshan Abbas directed teen campus affair, “I have got the platform and the presentation that I was looking for and have given the film my best as well. Now is the time for audience to tell whether it was all worth it or not. I can comfortably say that Shahrukh was the best help that I could have imagined.”

With Giselle Monteiro, Ali Fazal and Satyajeet Dubey as the other three leads, ‘Always Kabhi Kabhi’ has music by Pritam and releases all over on 17th June.

Mum's the word for Sonakshi

Sonakshi Sinha may be her daddy's daughter, but she she shares an equally special bond with her mom. She recently told us that her relationship with her mom has evolved a lot over the past few year.

She says, When I was five years old, I was completely my papa's daughter. My life revolved around him, but as I grew up my equation with my mom changed s lot. From respecting her to looking up to her, I have come a long when. Then there was a phase weher I became little bit of a rebel. She handled me so well then. She encouraged me in everything that I pursued. She didn't even force me to just study. She let me do my own thing. Today, she is my advisor, companion, guide, friend... all rolled into one. She is my everything."

Abhi-John's dostana again!

Abhishek Bachchan and John Abraham have decided to take their dostana forward! The two actors are planning to come out with a series of films starring both of them — thus branding them a pair.

Says a source, "AB Jr and JA have been in talks to come out with a series of films in different genres to take their Dostana a step further. While Tarun Mansukhani will bring out the film's sequel, the two actors are very excited about branding their pair. Some people even felt that the men shared more chemistry on screen together than they did with lead actress Priyanka Chopra.

The informer adds, "Both actors get along extremely well. AB Jr has mentioned in interviews that wife Aishwarya and John are his favourite co-stars. Last year, at an award event when he was absent, Abhi asked Aish and John to jointly collect the award."

The stars have yet to decide if they will find producers or their own individual production houses will jointly produce the films. "The films will be launched next year. The duo plan to approach big directors to helm their films. Currently, they have been going through various scripts to finalise some projects. They don't just want to do romcoms. From niche films to cop dramas, everything's on the agenda."

John confirms, "Yes, Abhishek and I have been in talks to bring out a series of films with us starring in it. All films will be of different genres. It's our way of taking the chemistry we share on screen forward. Abhishek is a wonderful guy and I'm very protective and fond of him. I don't like it if people criticise him in front of me. I tell them not to do it."

Sonam takes a dig at Ranbir again

The battle of words between Saawariya co-stars, and rumoured ex-couple, Sonam Kapoor and Ranbir Kapoor just went into overdrive. In a recent magazine interview, Ranbir was quoted saying, “Sonam said a few things on TV that she shouldn’t have. But I have nothing to say about her since she was just my co-star.”

Never one to hold back, Sonam now responds acidly, “If Ranbir is really feeling bad, he should look at his episode of the same TV show. I’m really surprised he’s so hurt since he expressed similar feelings about me.”

The comments in question were made on chat show Koffee With Karan, where Sonam poked fun at Ranbir, saying he wasn’t sexy and needed a stylist. In an earlier episode, Ranbir had ranked her the lowest among Bollywood female actors in terms of acting skills and sex appeal. “Just because I’m not going around giving interviews or commenting on that incident doesn’t mean what he said wasn’t upsetting,” says Sonam defensively. “But I am mature and won’t react to what’s being said about me.” While she recalls also complimenting Ranbir for being well brought-up, she now admits, “We’re not really in touch anymore.”

While some relationships can’t be fixed, Sonam has been mending fences with Saawariya filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali, her former mentor, who she had upset by saying he needed some colour in his life apart from black and blue. “My comments about Sanjay sir were never meant to be insulting. I can never think of putting him down,” she says, adding, “If I came across as being disrespectful towards him, I am really sorry. In fact, I have already had a chat with him and he was absolutely fine. He’s my guru.”

Shahrukh dances to Sallu's 'Dhinka Chaka'

Bollywood Badshah Shahrukh Khan rocked the stage with his dance steps at the Reddy wedding in Hyderabad on Friday night. Everybody was taken by surprise as SRK made a grand entry with the song, ‘Main Hoon Don’ at GVK Reddy’s granddaughter Mallika Reddy’s wedding to Siddharth Reddy. Since, Amitabh Bachchan was also present at the event, SRK joked that Big B is the original don of Bollywood.

Finally he announced the item that he had specially made for the Reddys. And guess which song it was?? Well, it was none other than Salman Khan’s hit number, ‘Dhinka Chika’ from the movie, ‘Ready’. Shah Rukh was also seen putting his shades on his back collar just like Salman does in the song.

According to sources, the crowd went completely berserk while Shah Rukh performed to a medley of his songs, but it was his ‘Dhinka Chika’ that completely rocked the stage. He wasn’t uncomfortable, he is a true performer, Mallika’s mother Pinky had even offered SRK for a discount for performing at the wedding, but he politely refused.”

Besides this, SRK also performed to Kuch Kuch Hota Hai with Rani Mukerji. SRK’s act ended in Om Shanti Om, style with him dancing with all his leading ladies — Rani, Anushka, Priyanka and, even Ranveer.

More Bollywood actors trooped in as the wedding took place on Saturday night. This will be followed by exclusive reception party on June 13.
