Besides acting, Priyanka Chopra has another passion — singing.
Those close to PC rave about her ability to hit the high notes and croon melodic tunes. This talent of hers gets her into trouble as friends always ask her to sing their favourite songs and she can't say no. To fend off the requests, she has decided to record some of her songs on a CD and play it for friends whenever they come over. A source reveals, "She is tired of taking requests. So she's going to record a CD of her own compositions and make them hear it every time they want to hear her croon." We hope some one leaks this CD soon!
Bipasha Basu can't get enough of 'Delhi Belly' and new director in town - Abhinay Deo.
Abhinay made his debut this year with the Abhishek Bachchan starrer 'Game' and 'Delhi Belly' is his second release.
"Saw Delhi Belly last night! It's a crazy good film! Laughed so much! Abhinay Deo d director is super talented! Everything abt d film was awesome," Bipasha poster on her Twitter page.
"Ram Sampat's music fr Delhi Belly is so crisp, bold, entertaining n in sync with the film! My fav song frm the film is switty switty switty," she added.
Rohit Shetty may be busy with his upcoming release Singham which opens on July 22 but the talented filmmaker already has big plans for his next venture Bol Bachchan.
The comedy flick was announced a while ago with Ajay Devgn and Abhishek Bachchan in lead roles and now the buzz is that Rohit has got Asin and Genelia DSouza to play the female leads in this fun-filled film.
Interestingly, this is the first time that Asin and Genelia would be working together and its does make for an interesting casting.
Bol Bachchan is produced by Shree Ashtavinayak Cine Vision Ltd. and Ajay Devgn Ffilms. Shooting begins in mid-August this year and the film will release in early 2012.
As he gears up for the England tour, Yuvraj Singh talks about love and infidelity
After Ajay Devgn kickstarted the third season of Emotional Atyachar, Yuvraj Singh shot for an episode of the reality show recently. We caught up with the ICC World Cup's Man of the Tournament for his take on couples testing each other's loyalty on national television, his single status and his preparation for his next international tour.
Road ahead: Cricket sensation Yuvraj Singh says he is is now fit
enough to get back to the game
First up, what prompted you to appear on a reality show like this?Emotional Atyachar is an interesting concept, where one finds out about couples and how their relationships can go wrong. The idea makes me curious as it is a way for couples to sort out their differences and know where their relationships stand.
Why do you think makes people stray in their relationships?
Relationships survive on trust and if that is broken at any point , it's pretty much the end of the
relationship. Besides, inability to communicate leads to problems.
Having seen the previous season's episodes, what comes to mind while watching cheaters getting caught red-handed?
It's never a good feeling to watch the whole showdown taking place and it's not nice to see someone's trust broken. Also, it's never just about the couple, there are other people involved as well -- families, friends and society. It's great if lessons are learnt from the show.
Personally, do you think it's necessary to expose the lying partner on national TV?
It's not my call when it comes to people deciding to test their relationships on national TV. It's the people who're prepared to come onto this platform to test the trust factor in their relationship. Everybody makes their own decisions.
Having been in relationships before, has the idea of straying crossed your mind?
Let's say, it happens when couples don't spend enough time together or don't communicate regularly. Then, the relationship is bound to be strained and that's also when people stray. Moving on to cricket, one expected to see you play in the West Indies tour. More so after being named the Man of the Tournament at the ICC World Cup. It is actually very simple, I fell sick and was unable to play. As a sportsman it is important to stay fit and I am in good shape to give my best to my game.
After that high, the IPL season didn't turn out to be as satisfying for the new Pune team, of which you're captain. Do you think there's an overdose of cricket now?
The amount of cricket we are playing has increased in the last few years and whenever somebody needs rest, the selectors are very considerate. In addition, it brings opportunities for younger players to show their caliber. From being sidelined due to poor form to being celebrated for the World Cup, how has people's attitude towards you changed?
I actually do not worry about what people say. I just work hard and be with the team, family and friends. Fan support is equally important and our hard work will show when we play.
Aren't your parents asking you to settle down and marry after MS Dhoni tied the knot?
I will only think of settling down after Salman Khan, the other most eligible bachelor plans to settle down. We are eligible bachelors, but he's the rockstar so let him get married first, then I'll think about myself.
Nine months since their break-up, former lovers Bipasha Basu and John Abraham may put up a front of being cordial and in touch — even endorsing a hair colour brand during that time — but the truth is that they aren't on talking terms with each other.
An insider reveals, "Bipasha gave nine years of her life to the relationship, even putting her career on hold whenever John needed her. She felt that everyone else was giving her so much love and respect, except John; that's when she decided to end the relationship. Naturally, when their relationship ended, she chooses not to keep in touch with him. She made up her mind to move on and cut herself away from her past. ."
The source adds that Bips doesn't want to be in love just for the heck of it. "She was 22 when she fell in love with John. Now she's single for the first time in years and is enjoying the lack of baggage that comes with a relationship. Bips is enjoying the male attention coming her way, and is being linked to quite a few eligible men. However, she has no plans to be in a committed relationship for some time now. Work is the only thing she's focussing on."
When quizzed about whether she's in touch with John post their parting and Bipasha says, "I choose not to be in touch with him; I am happier this way."
What about her alleged closeness to Hollywood heartthrob Josh Hartnett, who is starring with her in the upcoming film Singularity? "Josh is wonderful, but in another country, so it's impractical! Right now, I don't think I have the energy to be in a relationship. Josh and I are very fond of each other and try to keep in touch, but I am not romantically attached to anyone currently. There is more to life than just men. I am doing a romantic comedy with R Madhavan soon. It's a mad film and I'm really looking forward to it. It's only work for me for now."
Ranbir Kapoor seems to be an easy target, thanks to his womanising. At a recent event, hosts Boman Irani and Riteish Deshmukh based an entire skit, where they poked fun at the actor.
A source who attended the function reveals, "It was a funny skit where they spoofed the train scene from Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge. They do a version of what would happen if RK was in DDLJ. The skit has Ranbir being chased by Deepika, Katrina and Sonam. But unlike Shah Rukh Khan who was keen to have Kajol on board, Ranbir is shown running in the opposite direction."
He is one of the busiest stars in Bollywood, so no wonder Shah Rukh Khan loves it when he does 'nothing'!
"In the mode of doing nothing, sometimes listless... aimless... workless makes it the most satisfying experience of the day," Shah Rukh posted on his Twitter page.
"There is an Urdu line...jo kuch nahi karte woh kamaal karte hain (Those who don't do anything do wonders)...in London doing awesomely nothing," he added.
The actor has been busy shooting the last bits of his mega-budget home production 'RA.One', and last week, he enthralled Bollywood fans in Toronto with his presence at the three-day International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) Weekend and Awards.
Subbu Sujatha, a former associate of Seeman, turned independent with a movie titled Thaandavakone.
The film features Sanjay and Nandhagi, who grabbed everyone’s attention with her realistic performance in the lead role in Aval Peyar Tamizharasi. Maestro Ilayaraja’s music is said to be the backbone of the film.
“It is a romantic film with a difference. I have attempted a new narrative style. After hearing the full script, Isaignani readily agreed to compose for my film,” claims the director.
According to him, Ilayaraja was so moved by one particular situation where a song had to be incorporated that he preferred to write the lyrics for the song himself.
The emotional number talks about how a mother’s death affects an individual. “That’s how the song, which has the lyrics Neeral Udal Kazhuvi Nittha Nidha, originated. And believe me, he penned the song in just half-an-hour and followed that up by immediately composing the music for it in an hour,” he reveals.
Insiders say that Sanjay shed about 15 kilos to suit his offbeat role and has almost lived the character for the past one-and-a-half years of shooting.
The climax will be an arresting one, the director vouches. The entire film has been shot in hilly terrain near Kurangani hills and in available light for the most part.
Ram Gopal Varma is known to rant on Twitter but this time he has outdone himself as he uses Hindi expletives to praise Amitabh Bachchan and his film Bbuddhah Hoga Tera Baap. An eager RGV tweeted: "Just watched Bbhuddah nd am. angry with bacchan that hes such a ch******a not to do films like this
nd am such a l**d not to realize this (sic)"
While some fans found it "disappointing to hear such filthy language", some were just left confused, "so what r u saying is it gud or bad (sic)?"
It is, however, clear that the filmmaker enjoyed the film and Big B's performance in it as he had earlier tweeted, "Nvr bn jealous of evn the guy who made luv 2 the woman who I desire most bt am jealous of poori fr showng B btr thn wht I did in my 6 films (sic)." This post was incidentally retweeted by Amitabh Bachchan.
This is not the first time that Ramu has sparked off a controversy with his tweets. The director in the past miffed Karan Johar with his comment on I Hate Luv Storys. After the film's success, Varma tweeted that he “loves to hate and hates to love” Johar. He also took potshots at KJo’s films Kurbaan and My Name Is Khan. KJo replied, “You have an amazing sense of humour, Ramu! Never shows up in your films, though.”
It's no surprise then that the filmmaker ends up spending a good amount of time justifying his tweets.
Aamir Khan's most twisted project till date, Delhi Belly, is releasing all over the world today. Directed by Abhinay Deo, "Delhi Belly" is a youth-centric bold film, which stars Imran Khan , Vir Das and Kunal Roy Kapoor. Delhi Belly has not been cleared by the Pakistan censor board. The film was slated to release in Pakistan on Friday.
Pakistan's censor board has not cleared Bollywood star Aamir Khan's production 'Delhi Belly', forcing exhibitors and cinema hall owners to put off plans to release the movie later this week.
Atrium Cinema, a leading cineplex of Karachi, said in a message posted yesterday on its Facebook page: "It has just been notified by the distributors of film 'Delhi Belly' that Central Board of Film Censors, Islamabad, have not passed the film for public exhibition. Thus, the film will not be released in cinemas in Pakistan."
Exhibitors were planning to release the film, which stars Imran Khan, Kunaal Roy Kapur, Poorna Jagannathan, Vir Das and Shenaz Treasurywala, on Friday.
The censor board could not immediately be reached for comment. The reasons for the film not being cleared for exhibition could not immediately be ascertained.
Last year, the censor board had banned the exhibition of 'Tere Bin Laden', which was the film debut of singer Ali Zafar, due to concerns that the depiction of the slain Al Qaida could trigger terror attacks on cinema halls.
