Akshay has severe back problem

Bad back temporarily threw Akshay Kumar off schedule. After remedial treatment, he recovered and left for London to promote Tees Maar Khan

Akshay Kumar had to cancel his promotional trip to Dubai because of a severe back problem. So his Tees Maar Khan leading lady Katrina Kaif had to go alone and promote their upcoming film.

The actor's schedule has been hectic for the past fortnight as he has been busy with the promotion of TMK. In the last few days he has travelled to Ahmedabad, Kolkata, Jaipur, Ludhiana and Amritsar.

Back strain

He returned from Amritsar on Monday morning and was to fly to Dubai the next night. However, he had to go for an urgent MRI checkup for his back and he wasn't able to fly.

A source adds that the constant travelling has strained his back. A few months ago, he had flown to Germany for hydrotherapy for his back problem.

Against good advice

On Monday night, his doctor advised him to avoid travelling for a few days. However, after a day's rest the actor left for London.

He is also committed to fly to New York, Toronto and then Dubai.

The source adds, "The MRI tests were normal. Akshay's back had to be put in traction for a day to be aligned. The constant travelling had put severe stress on his spine."
