Talk about the company of fine friends. Shah Rukh Khan has finally taken a leaf out of Aamir Khan’s book. Aamir’s penchant for hosting special screenings is legendary among film industry circles. In fact, he makes it a point to host a preview before the theatrical release of practically each of his films. Now, Shah Rukh too is planning to host a special screening for Always Kabhi Kabhi, directed by Roshan Abbas.
Says a source associated with the film, “Yes, there were a couple of test screenings that were held a few weeks ago. Unlike many filmmakers who host special screenings only in Mumbai, Shah Rukh took the film to Delhi as well. He wanted to gauge the reactions from his biggest audience base for the campus entertainer he is producing.”
The test screening was held for youngsters in the age group of 14-24. Aamir had done the same for 3 Idiots, Taare Zameen Par and Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Naa.
Roshan admitted that the screenings did take place. “I had shown Shah Rukh some portions of the film to understand if we were in fact, reaching out to the audience we had in mind,” he said. However, since the film’s final edit hadn’t yet been done, Roshan and his team clarified as much to the test audience. “To our delight however, the audience was pretty involved with what they saw,” he said. We sure hope the audience at large shares similar sentiments.
