Aishwarya at Cannes without Abhi

Aishwarya Rai will once again walk the red carpet at Cannes, however this year she will be without hubby Abhishek Bachchan by her side.

AIshwarya Rai will be making her appearance at Cannes for the 10th Consecutive Year, her first appearance was in 2002 with her Devdas co-star Shahrukh Khan. Aishwarya and Abhishek had made their first appearance at the Cannes film festival as a couple in 2007, and were there last year to promote their film Raavan.

This year Abhishek will give Cannes a miss as he will be busy shooting in Russia for Abbas-Mustan's Players. What’s worse is that he will also miss their fourth wedding anniversary on April 20th due to a packed schedule.

This 64th edition of the Cannes Film Festival is scheduled to be held from 11th May to 22nd May 2011, and Aishwarya will be walking the red carpet as the L'Oreal brand ambassador for the 10th consecutive time. Abhishek is proud of Ash’s achievement and said, "I am very proud of her. I think she is the only Indian actress to have that." [via PTI]

We sense a last minute anniversary surprise in the making, as we would hate to see the lovely couple spend their 4th anniversary apart from each other.
