First she produced the voyeuristic Love Sex Aur Dhokha, and now Ekta Kapoor has two back-to-back films lined up for release: one is the horror, high-on-sex flick Ragini MMS, and another is based on the south sexbomb Silk Smitha titled Dirty Picture. But what worries Ekta is that her films are tagged as saucy and too bold for Indian cinema.
At the launch of the first look of ‘Ragini MMS’ yesterday, Ekta tried to clear the prevailing notions about her two films. The producer claims that the movies are not as dirty as they are being projected. When she was asked how come her two films have the same theme -- that is sex -- she said, “I don’t make films to please people. Both 'Ragini MMS' and 'Dirty Picture' are not porn films as they are made out to be.”
It’s quite clear after her comment that she is the lady who doesn’t hesitate to push the envelope in Indian cinema. The makers of Ragini MMS are not denying that the film is high on sex and semi-nudity, and that Ekta has kept it very natural.
Though Ragini MMS is a small-budget film, Ekta has special plans for its promotions. Dirty Picture, on the other hand, stars Vidya Balan as Silk Smitha and is in post-production stage.
Ekta also made clear that Ragini MMS is not a rehash of the Hollywood hit Paranormal Activity.
