Abhishek Bachchan dismisses rumours that he and actor Rani Mukerji, 33, have had a falling out. “I have absolutely no problems with Rani,” says Abhishek, who was in the Capital recently.
Rani, however, has a different story to tell. Asked recently about her equation with the actor, she said, “The truth is that if a person (Abhishek) chooses not to invite you to his wedding, you realise where you stand with the person,” referring to the fact that she was not invited for his wedding to actor Aishwarya Rai in 2007.
Asked about her statement, Abhishek says, “Rani has been a wonderful friend and a great co-star.” As for rumours that they avoid each other Abhishekat public events, he says, “She has been most warm and congenial with me whenever we have met,” he says.
Having done films such as Yuva and Bunty Aur Babli together in the past, the two were once considered a hit jodi. But, they haven’t worked together since 2007. “If we get a script, I would love to work with her.”
In town to promote his upcoming film Game, the actor is optimistic despite his previous flops. “We all have our share of success and failure, you have to take it in your stride and improve.”
