Priyanka Chopra has denied signing a film based on Chetan Bhagat's book '2 States: The Story of My Marriage', which is said to star Shah Rukh Khan.
"I am not in discussion with anyone regarding '2 States'. There is a great team involved, including Shah Rukh Khan, Sajid Nadiadwala and Vishal Bharadwaj and I definitely look forward to working with them at some point in the future," Priyanka said.
"However at this time, I am just committed to completing my existing projects on hand, which include Kunal Kohli's next, 'Barfee', and 'Krrish 2'," added the 28-year-old.
'2 States: The Story of My Marriage' is the third Chetan Bhagat novel to inspire a movie, after 'Hello', based on his book 'One Night @ The Call Centre' and the superhit '3 Idiots', inspired by his bestseller 'Five Point Someone'.
If Priyanka had taken up '2 States', it would have been her third movie based on a novel. The first was Ashutosh Gowariker's 'What's Your Rashee?', based on Madhu Rye's 'Kimball Ravenswood', followed by '7 Khoon Maaf', inspired by Ruskin Bond's short story 'Susanna's Seven Husbands'.
Prince Harry is reportedly dating the Florence Brudenell-Bruce, the girl Saif Ali Khan dated while on a break with Deepika Padukone in the film Love Aaj Kal. The model is in fact also the ex-girlfriend of Formula One driver Jenson Button. Harry, 26, is said to be having secret trysts with the 25-year lingerie and swimwear model, who he has known for years.
But a Royal source said they became “an item” after the Prince made it clear his sometimes turbulent romance with long-term love Chelsy Davy had run its course.
Florence’s ancestor, the Seventh Earl of Cardigan James Thomas Brudenell, was one of Britain’s most famous war heroes. He led the Charge of the Light Brigade in 1854 during the Crimean War at the age of 57.
She is the daughter of Old Etonian wine merchant Andrew and his French wife Sophie.
Both Harry and Florence, known as Flee to pals, have spent intimate time together at her 2.5 million pounds home in trendy Notting Hill, West London.
“It’s very early days but Harry and Florence are an item. She is a lot of fun, blonde and very good-looking. Harry really likes her,” the Sun quoted a well-connected Royal source as saying.
Yesteryears diva Sridevi is planning to introduce her elder daughter Jahnavi as a heroine. She has been looking at various options to introduce her in a big way. Sridevi is thinking about introducing Jhanavi either in a high budget Bollywood film or with a film that is made by a great director.
Looks like Sridevi is right now inclined to go for the second option. She is likely to launch her daughter with Mani Ratnam’s film is what the buzz says. Mani Ratnam is planning to make a youthful film in Telugu and Tamil soon. This movie will star actor Karthik’s son as the hero.
If everything falls in place, then this film would be Jhanavi’s launch pad claims the grapevine. Is that so? Let’s wait for the official confirmation regarding this.
Is the on-screen smashing jodi of 'Band Baaja Baaraat' Anushka Sharma and Ranveer Singh fight it out at IIFA, Toronto.
Yes, apparently the couple keeps fighting continuously and patch up even faster. One just heard actor Ranveer Singh say loudly, "Oh I am so stressed." Not once but twice as he tried to get into a lift to go to his room at a Bollywood awards function in Toronto. Sources said that he had a showdown with his whispered actor girlfriend Anushka Sharma yet again.
"The reason was simple. Ranveer and Anushka came in separately and there was a lot of stress during rehearsals because Anushka was not prepared. She felt that she could have got a day extra to prepare if Ranveer would have arrived on time. So, they had a brief argument regarding that," says a source.
Anushka also apparently didn't like the fact that Ranveer tried bonding a little with actor Sonakshi Sinha who was performing with him. "Sonakshi's body language was not that of a shy or reserved girl. She was talking to Ranveer quite openly and didn't care whether Anushka was around or not. Anushka, on the other hand, was just left standing in a corner," says another onlooker.
Finally, while Sonakshi matched steps with Ranveer, Anushka bowed out because she felt she was too unprepared for the performance. "We could see that they were not talking properly to each other and Ranveer was oddly stressed out. That is the reason when he got out of the rehearsals; he just headed back to his car to go the hotel and didn't even stop to sign an autograph, which is very unlike him. He was the same guy who sang and danced with his fans when he landed at the airport. He also kissed a girl on her cheek when she requested him," the onlooker adds.
Ranveer incidentally tried to make up with Anushka on the stage itself, when he and Anushka were both awarded the best couple on screen. He said, "Thank you Anushka for making me so hot!"
That was apparently the only time Anushka smiled at him.
Not everybody is happy with his expletive-ridden adult comedy 'Delhi Belly' but actor-producer Aamir Khan says despite having cuss words, the film has a sensitive outlook.
“It's a sensitive comedy. It's irreverently funny for adults' appetite. This film is not for people who don't like cuss words. It has a sense of humour which need not be taken
seriously; it is for those who are young at heart,” Aamir said.
'Delhi Belly', releasing on July 1, is about three young men living together in a bachelor pad in Delhi. When asked why he chose such a subject after making socially relevant films like 'Lagaan' and 'Peepli Live', the 45-year-old actor said, “I have great respect for the sentiments of people. My earlier films were entertainers watchable by the family but only this film's language is different. But certainly Delhi Belly has no overt sex, it's language is more cuss-like,” Aamir explained.
Telugu megastar Chiranjeevi has called it quits as an actor. The announcement came from the actor-turned-politician on Tuesday at a time when millions of his fans have been awaiting his 150th movie venture, supposed to be produced by his actor-son Ram Charan Teja.
"Since I am busy with politics, it would not be appropriate for me to don the grease paint again. My son Charan is there to fill the gap," Chiranjeevi replied when a spectator wanted to know about the proposed 150th film, at the launch of a Telugu movie channel.
To a query on whether he would don the role of a politician or chief minister in his future film, he claimed that people of Andhra Pradesh were longing to see him as chief minister in real life rather than in reel life. "Why in cinema? People feel I can become the chief minister in real life itself," he retorted.
Chiranjeevi had announced in December last that he would don the grease paint once again for his 150th film to be produced by his actor-son Ram Charan Teja.
Reacting to the news, Ram Charan Teja tweeted: "Like many other I was shocked to hear dad decided not to act any more and dedicate his life to serving people...not able to sleep over this." (With inputs from PTI)
Katrina Kaif recently found out that being a lone wolf rather than one of the pack doesn't pay.
Members of FWICE (Federation of Western India Cine Employees) recently sent summons to the actress and halted a recent shoot of her deodorant commercial at Mehboob Studios. It is apparently mandatory for every working actor to be registered with the organisation.
She has yet to fill the required forms and sign up for membership. A source reveals, "Some members from the body came and stopped the shoot. They wanted to know her registration number, but since she hasn't completed the legalities, they issued her a warning and asked her to comply with the rules. A visibly upset Kat was disturbed by the entire episode."
Calls were made and it was only when Salman personally gave assurance that she would complete the registration, did they allow the shoot to continue. Dinesh Chaturvedi, President-FWICE says, "We didn't halt the shoot, but we wanted to know why Katrina still isn't a member of our organisation. I understand she has a busy schedule, but it doesn't take that long to finish the formalities. Every one from Amitabh Bachchan to Shah Rukh Khan has registered with us."
He adds, "I did get a call from Salmanbhai saying that the needful will be done. I am speaking only for the benefit of the actors who aren't registered. Since Katrina is the only big star who doesn't have the card, we wanted to know how we could help her out." Chaturvedi adds that the card only costs Rs 600 but has many benefits. "It gives you insurance of around two lakh, besides you can even use it during international schedules. Our organisation is working towards making life easier for the industry."
It’s a make or break situation for Kareena Kapoor. Bollywood’s most glamorous face has half a dozen big banner films lined up for release this year, and she’s leaving no stone unturned to ensure she strikes gold. Recently, when the unit of Bodyguard was shooting in Patiala, Kareena took a two-hour break to visit a gurudwara in the city.
The Kapoors are reportedly big devotees of the Dukh Nivaran Sahib gurudwara and make it a point to offer prayers there everytime they are shooting up North. Kareena was shooting some crucial scenes for Bodyguard, but requested the director to spare her for a couple of hours. “She is very professional and has never left any unit waiting because of personal work. But since this was for a religious purpose, the director agreed to give her some time off,” says an eyewitness.
Accordingly, Kareena, dressed in a maroon salwar kameez, entered the gurudwara with some unit members and prayed for about half an hour. They then made a quick exit from the place and resumed shooting. The diva is currently the highest paid actress in the industry. She is also the first choice for any endorsement deal. With a massive line-up of upcoming films including Bodyguard, Agent Vinod, Ra.One, Reema Kagti’s yet untitled film and Karan Johar’s next opposite Imran Khan, she’s on top of her game. All she now needs is some divine assistance to help her stay there.
He is a black belt in Taekwondo and now Akshay Kumar is learning traditional combat karate for his role in " Rowdy Rathore".
Directed by Prabhudeva, produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Ronnie Screwvala and co-produced by designer Shabinaa Khan, the film has Sonakshi Sinha opposite Akshay.
The 43-year-old actor, who is extremely fitness conscious, will soon be heading to an undisclosed location for two months to train in this form of martial art.
"The movie will introduce to audiences a new kind of sport and being the professional that he is, Akshay has decided to take two months off to train intensively in combat karate," said a source.
"Set in the rustic heartland of the country, the film has a lot of action and required a star who knew the technical know-hows of his dangerous sport. Akshay seemed the perfect fit since being a trained martial arts professional he could pull the role off with panache," the source added.
Apart from the controversies that surround this beautiful dame, Katrina Kaif gives us the low-down on playing a carefree spirit in her next film
Touted as the sexiest actress in Bollywood today, Katrina Kaif has come a long way from her first film, Boom to her latest that hits the marquee next month. Denying some rumours and accepting some Kats literally let's go...
The other day, at a magazine event, you reportedly stressed on your singledom saying, 'I don't think I'm sexy, else I wouldn't be single'...
I don't think I meant that. There were too many people causing commotion at the place, so I was just joking ¦ I don't think it is relevant.
Moving on to your film, the first thought to cross your mind when you hear the phrase, zindagi na milegi dobara...
It's easier said than done. Because most of us worry about our jobs, future security, when we will settle down, where will we be 10 years from now and other things that it's difficult to let go.
So didn't you let go while playing Laila in the movie...
Well, I enjoyed playing a girl who doesn't plan tomorrow. She can happily sit on the beach, go diving, ride a bike ¦ in short do whatever she feels like without worrying about where she'll get her money for the next week and so on. I wanted to learn how to ride a bike. And I love the water, so it was fun indulging in deep sea diving. As an actor, one does get to experience things one would never get a chance to otherwise.
What were the most memorable moments when you let go while portraying Laila?
Both, dirt biking and deep sea diving were more traumatic than I had initially anticipated. I had the basic understanding of smaller bikes, but I had to practice with a bigger and heavier one for the movie. I refused to understand that you've to let the bike fall, as I was being stubborn and trying to prevent it from going down. So I got hurt once or twice. As for diving, I had learnt it in a pool, but had to shoot the scenes in seas with choppy waters. It was so stressful that at the end of the four-day shoot in the waters, I had lost three and half kilos.
We believe you had close encounters with the sharks while shooting in the sea?
Well, I was told about the sharks later, after we had finished the shoot. I was angry at not being informed earlier, but I was explained that the knowledge could have caused me to panic and hamper my performance. Of course, if I had known about the sharks, I wouldn't have ventured into the waters. About a month later, I heard the place was shut due to sharks.
Your chemistry with Hrithik Roshan has generated a lot of buzz, fuelled further by reports of a three-minute long kissing scene...
I believe that for the chemistry to work, the film has to work first. For me, it's a new test like every other film. If the audience likes it, the film works and that's why the chemistry between the characters works.
Ek Tha Tiger sees you team up with Salman Khan again. Aren't you apprehensive the pairing will distract audiences from the roles you two play in the movie?
I don't think so. That's director's challenge; to make sure the story and the film is strong to overcome all that. If people have any expectations or their interest is piqued because of the reports so far, I'm fine with it. Our job is to ensure that the audience gets interested in the film for what it is and not by reports.
Having bagged Yash Chopra's next film with SRK, you're being heralded as YRF's blue-eyed girl...
Not at all. Adi (Aditya Chopra) is someone who won't cast you unless he really believes you suit the role. I don't know if anyone else would have done the role in Mere Brother Ki Dulhan. Besides, I had not worked with Imran (Khan) before, so it made sense. I've worked with Kabir (Khan) in New York. So when he started scripting Ek Tha Tiger, he wanted me to be a part of it, given our equation. As for Yashji's film, it made sense to them because I've never worked with Shah Rukh before.
RGV not able to use his own 'Rangeela' song in his new real-life horror film 'Not A Love Story'
It should be easy for Ram Gopal Varma to use A R Rahman's title track from Rangeela, which RGV directed in 1995, as part of the background score for his new real-life horror film Not A Love Story, right?
Urmila Matondkar in Rangeela
Wrong! He is being driven up the wall trying to get the rights for his own song from his own film.
The trouble is, he and the film's cast and crew have their hearts set on the Rangeela song. And none on the team of NALS knows how to get out of it.
Can't imagine
Say a source, "Not in his wildest imagination did Ramu think he would have a problem getting the rights for a song from his own movie.
He ordered a terrific re-mix of Hoja Rangeela Re and it was to be used to set the violent, reckless pace of the crime thriller.
Now, when he is facing a problem with getting the rights of the song, the entire team is depressed. They can't imagine a replacement to this track. The director doesn't know what to do."
Having no rights
When questioned about it Ramu says, "Yes, I do want to use the song in my next. But the rights are not with me. Yeah, I can't use a song from my own film while others merrily remix songs from other people's films."
Two Bollywood stalwarts like Big B and Aamir Khan rarely clash at the box office. Amitabh Bachchan's Bbuddah Hoga Tera Baap and Aamir Khan's Delhi Belly are all set to release this Friday. Both are drastically different films, but interestingly have similar marketing and publicity techniques.
Both have cashed on the burning topic 'the age limit for drinking in Maharshtra'. While Big B tweeted about it incessantly, Imran Khan announced his plans of filing a Public Interest Litigation. Both have relied on the strategy of abuse or not to abuse. While DB has 'in-your-face' songs with abundant use of double meaning words and expletives, AB's Bbuddah has beeped the abuses. Also, both Aamir and Big B have turned item boys for their respective films. With so much efforts being put in by both parties, it would be fun to see who wins this BO race on July 1.
Buzz is that Shahid Kapoor is more than involved in Kunal Kohli's upcoming film
According to rumours, Shahid Kapoor, who has always expressed a desire to get into direction, is taking his dream a bit too seriously with Kunal Kohli's next film.
According to sources, the actor gives a lot of inputs in the film, tentatively titled Janam Janam Ka Saath Hai Hamara Tumhara.
The movie is a period love story set across three generations and stars SK opposite ex flame Priyanka Chopra. The pair is coming together for the first time for this project after Kaminey.
In control
A highly placed source on the set revealed, "Shahid has more or less taken the reins from director Kunal Kohli's hands. He sometimes also calls the shots on important matters like where to shoot and how to shoot a particular scene."
The source informs that the actor has also contributed a lot to the script.
"Kunal wanted to shoot the first schedule in London but Shahid requested him to shoot in Mumbai first. So the director gave in.
SK wanted to shoot the first schedule in the city, so that he is available to finish some patchwork for Mausam his dad's film."
Working in tandem
A friend of the actor explains, "Every big star gives inputs in his film, it doesn't mean they are ghost directing it. The actor and the director work as a team and consult each other."
While the Kapoor lad remained available for comment, when asked if he is doing most of the direction, Kunal quipped sarcastically, " ¦And I am acting in the film."
Sakshi Khanna, son of Bollywood actor Vinod Khanna, was also detained from the Mumbai rave party on Sunday night at a resort in Khalapur.Although Sakshi was present at the hotel, it is not known whether he consumed any drugs.
Charges will be framed only after the police receive the results of the medical test of blood samples of all those present at the party. The blood pathology report will take 15 days to come, police sources said.
All of them were let off after medical examination, Raigad DSP Namrata Patil said.
It is worth mentioning here that nearly 300 youngsters, including 60 girls were detained from a resort on Mumbai-Pune highway.
The police have also seized drugs and liquor served in the party to ascertain its kind and quantity. The rave party had received alleged security from an inspector of Mumbai narcotics department.
The police action came on a day which is observed as International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking.
There are no comments received from the actor-turned politician Vinod Khanna.
After being grilled for over 10 hours by the customs department at Mumbai airport on Monday, actress Anushka Sharma would have to face the income tax (I-T) sleuths soon.
Sources said Anushka was likely to be interrogated by the I-T officials on her wealth soon.
The actress had landed at the airport carrying jewellery and expensive watches worth around Rs 20 lakh without proper documentation. She was detained while passing through the green channel.
After her questioning, Anushka had refused to comment before the media. She had reached Mumbai via Singapore after attending the IIFA Awards ceremony in Toronto, where she won the best actress award.
Sources said Anushka claimed that she was carrying jewellery and accessories given by various brands. She had apparently declared them while leaving India and now representatives of those brands would claim the valuables from the customs department.
Well Everyone know this super spicy Pakistani Item Girl, naughty Drama queen Veena Malik. She was waiting for this type of Spicy item to show her oomph on big screens to Bollywood.
She became a household name in India with her controversial stint on the fourth season of reality show `Bigg Boss` and now Pakistani actress Veena Malik is joining Bollywood`s item girl bandwagon.
The 32-year-old actress, better known as the ex-girlfriend of troubled Pakistani cricketer Mohammad Asif will be seen in an item number in Bobby Sheikh directed film `Phir Mulakat Ho Na Ho`.
"We are are in talks with Veena Mallik for an item song in the film. It is almost certain," said Sheikh.
This is Sheikh`s first venture as a film director. He has been the assistant director in films like `Rann` and `Rang De Basanti`.
With songs by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, KK and Atif Aslam, the film also stars Rajpal Yadav, Kader Khan and Praveen Kumar and will hit the screens in September this year.
As unbelievable as this may sound, Ajay Devgn has something in common with Lady Gaga. After watching Ajay do some kitsch moves in the new song from his upcoming film Singham, one can't help but notice Devgn aping Lady Gaga's claw move.
One look at the Lady Gaga's Bad Romance and Paparazzi videos, you can't ignore the similarity, a leading daily reported.
Obviously, Ajay apes the move at the choreographer's behest. The choreographer is also being criticised creating an extremely Dabangg-esque look for the song.
Seems like the cold war between Salman Khan and Priyanka Chopra has heated up.Sallu recently annoyed Piggy Chops by calling his Bodyguard co-star Kareena Kapoor the 'original desi girl'. This obviously upset Priyanka, who has been given the Desi Girl tag after the sexy track in Karan Johar's Dostana. Interestingly, Salman's comments have come at a time when Shah Rukh Khan, has come out in the open supporting Priyanka's acting skills.
Aamir Khan, who has performed an item number titled I Hate You for his latest home production Delhi Belly, says its time for “item boys” to rock Bollywood.
Aamir, who will be seen in a retro look says It is a tribute to the disco era of 1980s. My hair-do is inspired by Amitabhji and I sport chest hair, just like Anilji. The dance moves are similar to Mithunda and Govinda. And my attire will be a mix of everyone,” he said.
A spoof on Bollywood legends, in an item number for 'Delhi Belly,' has not gone well with some.
Highly placed sources in B -Town reveal that actor Anil Kapoor’s family is fuming ever since they saw the hairy act in the funny item number from ‘Delhi Belly,’ for they feel it's a satire on the internationally acclaimed actor.
“The hair on my chest in the item song, is what I have adopted from Anil Kapoor,” said Aamir during a media interaction last night. Though Aamir, in the media interaction, said that he had taken some bits from all the stars, who rocked in the period of 80s and 90s, but taking an inspiration that of a hairy chest from a renowned actor like Anil Kapoor has hurt his close ones, as per the sources. After the media began playing Aamir’s interaction on television, some close ones of the actor found the thought offensive.
“Though it is a satire, but you can’t demean an actor of Anil’s calibre, it is in a bad taste,” says a source close to Kapoor.
“The hairstyle is inspired from Amitji, dancing steps from Govinda, Rishi Kapoor and Mithun da, and of course- the hair on the chest from Anil Kapoor, who is one of the finest actors. It is a tribute to all the stars from the era of 80s and 90s," Aamir added candidly in the media interaction that reportedly left the Kapoors fuming. Well, we can only request the Kapoor clan to take a chill-pill for now.
The hilarious item song, 'I hate u, love u, tere pyaar mein dewaana' in which Khan has taken references from the actors of the 80s and 90s era, with Aamir dressed in an Elvis Presley avatar, is found pulling a satire on Mithun Da and others too, leave along Anil.
Hotshot Samantha denies rumours about doing a Bollywood movie saying that she is comfortably placed in Tollywood with four big ticket films with superstars Mahesh Babu and Ram Charan Tej.
“I don’t know how these rumours cropped up because there is not an iota of truth in them. B-town offers were always there but I kept declining them since Tollywood is my priority now, “ she says.
The actor’s ticket to fame was Ye Maaye Chesave and she followed it up with another hit Bridavanam. She is now set for a hat-trick with Dhookudu opposite Mahesh Babu which will release in August.
“My diary is packed for nearly 10 months with Rajamouli’s Eega, Ram Charan Tej’s untitled film, a bilingual film with Gautam Menon and discussions are on for another one with a big star,” informs the pretty actor.
With plum offers in her kitty and pay packet soaring from Rs 10 lakh to 50 lakh, the ‘teen sensation’ has a valid reason for sticking to Tollywood and no prizes for guessing why she is declining B-town offers.
Celebrities who attended the Vijay Awards recently, conveyed to the audience repeatedly that the superstar was making a remarkable recovery.
When K. Balachander was awarded the Sivaji Ganesan award, he said, “Rajini called me after he got discharged from the hospital and he is fine.
” When the host asked him whom he likes more, Rajini or Kamal, he neatly evaded, “One day I like Rajini and the other day I like Kamal. It’s tough to choose between the two.”
Director K.S Ravikumar mentioned in his speech that Rajini was recuperating well and would come back soon. To top it all, like the cherry on the cake, came the message from the superstar himself.
When Dhanush received the ‘Best villain’ award on behalf of Rajini for Enthiran, he read out a letter from Rajinikanth.
It said, “K.B sir chose me to play the negative role in my first film. I would rather play Ravanan than Ram.”
Production house orders Katrina Kaif to wear bikini for film or risk losing role in Dhoom 3
The Story : It's confirmed that Katrina Kaif is in talks with a production house for their upcoming project Dhoom 3. However, the banner has laid down a condition that she should be willing to wear a bikini for not just one but two major scenes in the film.
The Hitch : Kaif, who wore a bikini in her debut film Boom (2003), has refused to don swimwear since.
The Dilemma : A source close to the project reveals, "Kat is at the final stage of discussions with the producers. Everything else is on track, except for the two bikini scenes. This is crucial as the banner is famous for getting all their leading ladies in swimwear. There's no way they will write out those scenes just because she's not ready to do them. During the meetings, Kat has raised doubts on the nature of these scenes, and the makers have assured her they would be shot in the most aesthetic manner possible."
The Argument : If Kareena Kapoor (Kambakht Ishq, Tashan) and Priyanka Chopra (Don) can, then why can't she? "These days everyone is ready to get into a bikini. It's a 'flaunt it if you got it' mantra. And they are telling Kat that she will lose out on a good role if she decides to stall the film based on these two scenes."
What next? If negotiations fall through, the banner has a second choice lined up. "If Kat is perisistent in her refusal, they have a newcomer who is being trained at the moment. She will be cast in the film if the star doesn't sign on."
Aamir Khan has won 1 crore on the Bengali version of Kaun Banega Crorepati, Ke Hobey Banglar Kotipati, if rumours are to be believed.
The actor appeared with wife Kiran Rao on the show, hosted by Sourav Ganguly. Said a source from the audience, "Although Aamir had used up all his lifelines before reaching the final level, he was able to give the correct answer after a lot of pondering and discussions with Kiran." However, when Aamir was later asked about how much he won, he refused to confirm anything.
Now that Aishwarya is out of Heroine, buzz is that Priyanka Chopra is showing interest in the project.
Even though the director hasn't made up his mind, PC is ready to commit dates if need be. A source reveals, "Priyanka thinks it's a role of a lifetime. She has worked with Madhur in Fashion and they share a great equation.
When she got the news, PC was one of the first to send him a SMS implying her willingness to work in the film. She was even cool with smoking, drinking and the intimate scenes. She has advised him against scrapping the film."
There's talk that Madhur will take a call on this in the next few days.
Yash Chopra's next directorial venture will star Shah Rukh Khan along with Yash Raj Films' two blue eyed girls Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma. The untitled movie will be a romantic saga. Talking about his return to direction, Yashji spoke about living up to SRK's expectations. On the other hand he talked about his favorite ladies.
"Will I be able to present the beautiful Katrina Kaif and the very talented Anushka Sharma in a way they have never been seen before?" Well, we couldn't help but notice the way Yashji referred to his two heroines the beautiful Kat and the very talented Anushka. Katrina is going all out to prove herself as an actor. Wonder how pleased she will be by being addressed only as 'beautiful' by the filmmaker.
Wants director to cast his 'Double Dhamaal' co-star in 'Ishqiya' sequel
Now that we know Vidya Balan is not playing the lead in Ishqiya sequel, it is a big question as to who will replace her.
However, from what we have heard Arshad Warsi, who starred in the prequel alongside Vidya and Naseeruddin Shah, has already made his choice.
He is keen on having his Double Dhamaal co-star Kangna Ranaut in it and is pushing filmmakers to cast her.
Open suggestions
An industry insider informs, "He has recommended her name to director Abhishek Chaubey and producer Vishal Bharadwaj and Ketan Maroo because he strongly feels that she suits the role and is a perfect femme fatale."
Both the actors worked together for the first time in the recently released DD and bonded big time.
Another source adds, "After rom-com Tanu Weds Manu and comedy Double Dhamaal, Kangna's versatility as an actress has been established.
These films have proved the audiences have accepted her. All these factors make her a strong contender for the role."
It's not Arshad
However, a friend of Kangna says it's not Arshad but the producer and director of the film who have approached her for the sequel.
"Abhishek and Ketan met and gave her a narration. She would love to work with them but she still has to work out her dates. Arshad has nothing to do with it. He got to know about it much later."
Both Kangna and Arshad were unavailable for comment, but we spoke to director Abhishek Chaubey. "We are still writing the script.
We haven't even thought about casting yet. Kangna is a fantastic actor. Once the character is formed only then we will know whether she is suited for it or not," he said.
Director Madhur Bhandarkar shelves his dream project, 'Heroine'
News of Aishwarya Rai's pregnancy has come as a shock to director Madhur Bhandarkar, who has now decided to shelve his ambitious venture, Heroine.
According to sources, Bhandarkar was blissfully ignorant about her pregnancy and was busy making ambitious plans for his film.
However, now his dreams have come crashing down as he has realised that there is no way he can shoot the film with the dates given to him by the actress.
Also, the role requires her to smoke, dance, run around and do things, which are normally not advisable for a pregnant woman.
Even though Aishwarya is ready to shoot on the given dates, Madhur doesn't want to go ahead.
Apart from being worried about not being able to shoot with a five-month pregnant Ash, he is also concerned that she might not be available when the post-production and promotional work starts.
While the director has decided to go underground for a while, presumably because of this huge disappointment, a friend close to him informs, "About R 3.5-4 crore have gone down the drain.
About ten days of the shoot were completed at a set in Vile Parle, Mumbai.
The special set was erected and a red light area was recreated in it. Madhur was really excited about this movie. But because of the circumstances, he has no option but to shelve the project. No one anticipated this situation."
'Expecting' losses..
It is also said that a cosmetic brand that Aishwarya endorses, had invested R 50 lakh in the film, as sponsorship fees. Producers UTV Motion Pictures apparently stand to lose about R 3.5 crore in the bargain.
Actor is busy juggling shoots for 'Agneepath' and 'Just Dance'
Hrithik Roshan's schedule is as busy as it can get.
On Friday evening, he frantically rushed to Mumbai to shoot for Just Dance, the dance reality show that he judges from the climax shoot of Agneepath that is being filmed on the small island of Diu in Gujarat.
With no connecting flights between the two places at a suitable time, Duggu flew in on a chartered plane. He then shot for the entire night in Mumbai before returning to Diu the next morning.
Not happy about it
The actor, is currently going through the most tumultuous scheduling scramble in the history of his career.
Apparently, neither him nor his director Siddharth Malhotra, are too happy with his moving back and forth.
Says a source, "Both of them are equally stressed about the interruptions in the dramatic climax shoot. The entire film unit has been shooting in Diu since the beginning of June.
It is a sensitive area and permission to shoot there has been attained after much effort. Hrithik is not happy leaving behind the shoot. His commitment to the dance show is breaking the rhythm on the location."
Says Hrithik, "We tried to adjust the dates as much as we could. I'm working virtually like a machine between Just Dance and Agneepath, without breaks or any respite."
Hrithik is exhausted, but determined to see the impossible schedule through. Says the actor, "It's like doing three films at the same time! But as long as my day is filled with good work I am ready to take on even more."
What he missed
Hrithik had to forego a trip to Toronto for an international awards function. Says Hrithik, "I think my first day off now would be in October. And boy, am I looking forward to that! "
Bipasha Basu and Ameesha Patel both wore Ramona Narang minis, Bipasha with gold accessories and straight hair, while Ameesha wore hers canary yellow and with pink accessories.

Bollywood actress Katrina Kaif topped the '100 Sexiest Women 2011' list of an entertainment magazine, edging out fellow star Deepika Padukone, who grabbed this title last year.
The list is based on short messaging service (sms) and online voting. The Bollywood actress got a whooping 35,000 votes.
According to the online poll and the sms votes, by the Indian edition of a men's magazine declared that the actress's average rating was ahead of the legendary cricketer, Sachin Tendulkar.
This is the third time that she has topped the sexiest woman poll. She won the same title in 2008 and subsequently in 2009.
While growing up, she was very fascinated by this title.
Kaif added that it would be interesting to show the magazine covers to her grandchildren after 50 years.
"Every one knows I have grown up in London, and out there was a very famous kind of you know the '100 most attractive women list'. And it was a lot of fun for me; I would see the people I would really like. So when they launched this in India, I was like that's quite interesting.
"First time I got this title, I was very shocked. Second time I got, I was like it's a lot of fun. And now this year, I think it's been a wonderful shoot. It's always nice, because I would say that when you have grandchildren and you look back over those years, I mean 50 years from now, I could have those magazine covers on a wall and I can say one time I was considered sexy," said Katrina Kaif.
She also informed the media that she was never considered attractive. She feels indebted to her audience and fans for supporting her throughout her career.
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s pregnancy news is bothering Madhur Bhandarkar. He is concerned about his ambitious project ‘Heroine’ which has Aishwarya in lead. Since the movie and its story mainly revolve around the actress, the news about Aishwarya’s pregnancy has put the director in dilemma.
The latest buzz doing the rounds in tinsel ville is that the makers of the Aishwarya Rai-starrer forthcoming flick ‘Heroine’ are mulling over replacing the pregnant actress.
According to the gossipmongers, Aishwarya, who plays the protagonist in Madhur Bhandarkar’s ‘Heroine’, is four and a half months pregnant and as such, her baby bump has become quite noticeable now and has put the moviemakers are in a fix.
Two songs from the film are to be shot in Paris and England and it’s a 30-day outdoor shooting schedule that can't be postponed, as a lot of investment has been done for it, the sources reveal.
"It seems impossible for Aishwarya to attend outdoors or shoot songs, which have dance performances, since it is not advisable and risky too,” uttered a source. It may be risky for her to shoot dance and song sequences and that too in foreign locations.
Speculations are rife that Bachchans were well aware of Aishwarya’s pregnancy since a month before, however, they didn’t disclose the good news to the makers of ‘Heroine’.
A source stated, "Even a month ago, when the film was launched at the Cannes Film Festival, the Bachchan's were aware of Aishwarya's pregnancy, but did not reveal it to the makers of the film."
And the creative head honchos of ‘Heroine’, who were ignorant about Ash’s pregnancy, were tolerable with the actress’ flab as they felt that she has put on weight for her character in the film.
Even though he shares a great rapport with the media, Bollywood actor Shahrukh Khan is weary of how the media often twists the stories about the strained relationships of the Bollywood stars. Shahrukh Khan vented his anger on the Media at IIFA 2011 in Toronto.
Incidentally, while Shahrukh was in Toronto, other stars like Amitabh Bachchan and Salman Khan couldn’t make it there, leading to obvious questions about strained relationships among Bollywood actors.
However, speaking to reporters at IIFA in Toronto, Shahrukh Khan rubbished such notions as media-created myth.
When a TV reporter asked Shahrukh why big stars don’t come together at events like IIFA, Shahrukh’s reply was straightforward and brusque.
"I actually don't understand your question. We all have been under one roof many times and we are very proud of all the award functions, IIFA especially, around the world. Whenever we are called, we attend," Shahrukh said.
The actor further added: "Your channel said (some time ago) that I am not going to a function because Mr Bachchan is there. That's not true. That's rubbish. But we cannot question your rubbish...All of us come together whenever we have the time to perform, especially when we go to present our best face internationally, like here in Toronto."
About why he himself skipped IIFA for seven years, Shahrukh said: "I know a lot of people make a thing of the seven years that I have not been at IIFA ...it has no personal angst to it. It is just that it falls during the summer holidays for my young kids."
The actress, who publicly declared her crush on the actor, stole the show from his girlfriend Anushka at a recent award function
While Sonakshi Sinha will take away some great memories of her time in Toronto, attending an award function, Anushka Sharma has not been so fortunate. It seems that the weekend started out on a bad note for Anushka and just kept getting worse.
It all began, on June 22, when the actress had to fly solo, rather than in the company of her beau Ranveer Singh, who was only able to fly out the next day.
However, her only consolation was performing with Ranveer at the said awards function. But that too was a short-lived happiness. Despite the couple rehearsing for their performance, Anushka was told at the last moment by organisers that Sonakshi was a better fit.
Previously, Anushka had gyrated to peppy numbers in Rab Ne Bana De Jodi and Band Baaja Baaraat, but she did not seem to impress organisers with her stage performance. A source revealed, “At the last moment Anushka was replaced by Sonakshi to dance with Ranveer. The organisers said that Anushka was not well prepared, and thus they couldn’t take any chances.”
Sonakshi seems to have lucked out from this whole incident the most. Previously, the actress confessed her crush on Ranveer on a TV show. She couldn’t stop gushing about the newbie and said she would have loved to date him, if he was single.
However, when the topic was brought up to Anushka, on the same show, she refrained from taking an insecure girlfriend approach and instead said, “He is all yours. Please go ahead.”
But, the latest event has not sat well with Anushka, who was spotted with a sullen face.To make matters worse, while receiving an award Lisa Ray mispronounced her name as ‘Anushka Shankar’. Even though KJo was quick to correct that, Anushka’s expression said it all.
The actress, however, graciously accepted her award and thanked Karan for correcting the mistake. Fortunately, things seemed to have lightened up for Anushka, when Ranveer, upon accepting his award, said, “Thanks Anushka for making me hot!”
