Rs 25 lakh in shopping!

That's roughly the amount Kangna Ranaut blew up while shopping for designer clothes in Paris

Kangna Ranaut has just returned from her whirlwind shopping holiday in Paris. She is back with a suitcase full of clothes from some of the best top fashion houses, having run a bill close to Rs 25 lakh.

The actress, who is styling herself for her next films Tezz and Rascals, feels this is justified. As it is for her work, the damage is not to her own wallet.

She has been encouraged by her directors to style herself as they feel she has a keen fashion sense.

Shopping break

Sanjay Dutt, producer of  Rascals had set aside a huge budget for clothes for the actress and urged her to shop in Paris. The actress was shooting for Tezz in London, and she took a break and headed to Paris, where she shopped to her heart's content.

Kangs has to wear 25 outfits in the film, and she picked up 20 dresses from Paris itself from designers like Chanel, Valentino, Armani, Christian Dior and Givenchy.

She blew up the entire budget allotted. For Rascals, her character of a single girl in New York is inspired by Sarah Jessica Parker from Sex and the City. So there are several floral dresses with sexy cuts.

When she landed in the city, Kangs sent the outfits to the film's stylist Rajat Tangri who will put together and accessorise her looks.

Out on the town

Apart from shopping, the actress also found time to sightsee in Paris. She visited the Moulin Rouge, the Notre Dame Cathedral and sat at a cafe on the the Champs-elysees.

Kangna says, "To me, fashion is an expression. I like the looks of different personalities and not just one. I like Rihanna, Posh Beckham, Tarun Tahiliani, Stella McCartney, Alexandra McQueen.

A blend of fashion icons and designers is what makes my fashion style. I loved Paris - it's a very different city."
