Arbaaz explains his big brother's position on accepting awards
Salman Khan might have lost out on the Best Actor award for 'Dabangg' at the recent Zee Cine Awards, but it seems like he wouldn't have taken the award, even if he had won it. Here's why.
Salman's brother Arbaaz, who produced 'Dabangg' and was at the Zee Cine Awards in Singapore on January 14, posted on his Twitter page, "Had another rich haul @ zee awards. Won 8 out of 17 nominations for Dabangg. A record number in nominations. Congrats team Dabangg. Kudos :)"
While 'Dabangg' won the most number of awards at the Zee Cine Awards, Salman did not win Best Actor in either the popular choice or jury section. Shah Rukh won the popular choice award for 'My Name Is Khan', while Hrithik won the jury award for 'Guzaarish'.
Arbaaz added on his Twitter page, "The fact is that Salman deserves the best actor award in the popular category at every award function for Dabangg." Hmmm...dig at Sallu's nemesis SRK there?
Arbaaz continued, "Ignoring Salman may clearly have to do with the fact that he refuses to accept the awards if given in spite of him being present at the event. I guess everybody has their reasons. What is evident is that Salman believes in rewards and a successful film and not awards. Each to his own."
So if Salman is refusing to accept awards, even if he gets them, it means he's becoming a bit like Aamir. What next, we wonder? Will Salman stop attending awards functions too?
Arbaaz finished by posting, "Dabangg is receiving so many awards mainly due to Salman's performance, hard work & star power. We are all very proud of him and thank him."
Point taken, but we will wait for the next awards show in line to see if Salman keeps up his pattern and record too.
