Wife of Aamir Khan and the director of ‘Dhobi Ghat’ Kiran Rao has revealed that she was eyeing Salman Khan for a cameo appearance. Kiran has divulged that the character of Munna (played by Prateik Babbar) is a die-hard fan of actor Salman Khan.
Munna aka Prateik portrays a Dhobi (washerman) who aspires to become an actor. He virtually reveres the superstar Salman Khan and has his room full of his wall papers. Interestingly, Kiran says that there is a Katrina Kaif picture as well since at the time of the filming, Salman and Kat were very much together in real life. Plus, there is one pic of Aishwarya Rai’s beautiful eyes.
Kiran discloses that she was contemplating to rope in Salman for a special appearance for a scene where Munna meets his idol but when the final draft of the script was made, that scene got deleted.
Kiran had planned to make this film at a shoe string budget of Rs 2 crore but she blames her perfectionist husband Aamir Khan whose presence led to the increment in the budget. ‘Dhobi Ghat’ is the season’s most awaited flick and is to explode into theatres this 21st January. This would be the first Aamir Khan film after we last saw him in ‘3 Idiots.’
